PET GROOMER

Pet boarding and grooming facility looking to expand grooming services by adding another experienced Groomer to join our team. Our ideal candidate is an animal lover who has at least 2 years of prior experience with all of the below listed requirements & qualifications. You must be comfortable bathing dogs of various breeds and sizes. In addition to bathing, your grooming duties will include nail clipping, anal gland cleaning, and ear-cleaning services. We expect candidates for this position to have the clipping and scissoring skills necessary to fulfill client expectations. As a Groomer, you should have a passion for help the dogs look their best. Set your own hours and groom as much as you would like any day of the week. Depending on your schedule, you may be sharing the grooming room or working alone.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• LOVE for Dogs of All Sizes

• Excellent Customer Service Skills

• Good Eye-Hand Coordination

• Patience

• Ability to Manage Temperamental Dogs when needed

• Precision and Grooming Knowledge

• Basic Knowledge of Canine Health and Anatomy

• Clipping and hand scissoring skills

• Comfortable working with various breeds of dogs

• Ability to work with dogs that weigh over 60 lbs.

• High School diploma or GED equivalent

• Ability to work with other groomers

• Ability to lift dogs that weigh up to 50 pounds

• Calming presence to sooth dogs

• Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time

• Ability to pass a background check

• Great communication skills - written and verbal

• Ability to work on a team

• Must have your own grooming tools, including clippers, blades, scissors/shears, and brushes. All other supplies provided.

• Ability to groom cats is a plus but not required
   

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Shampoo and dry dogs

• Clip or scissor animal coats according to owner specifications

• Trim or grind pet’s nails

• Perform ear-cleaning services

• Clean anal glands

• Maintain an upbeat attitude

• Calm an anxious dog

• Ensure company policies are being followed

• Communicate effectively with clients to find out what they need

• Take payments for services when needed

• Schedule appointments when needed
